104 11
    • Christmas is a time when everyone gets together and celebrates the holiday with food, parties and games. Christmas-related games for children are a good way to entertain them at school parties, home parties and during visits from all the family members that will be stopping by. There are plenty of Christmas games to play that are original or based on other traditional games, making it possible to fill the holiday season with a variety of entertainment for the kids.

    Bust the Snowballs

    • Blow up several white balloons and break kids into teams of two. Divide the balloons and place them at one end of the room. Play this game like a relay race, with kids from each team taking turns running down and popping a snowball balloon. The first team to get all of its snowballs popped wins the game.

    Christmas Memory

    • Fill a tray with Christmas items. Include a variety of things, such as cookies, bells, ornaments, Christmas cards, Santa, a snowman and other Christmas-themed items. Pass the tray around the room and let the kids look at it for 10 to 15 seconds, then hide the tray and instruct each child to write down on a piece of paper everything that was on the tray. Every child who can successfully list all of the items wins a small prize or treat.

    Peppermint Checkers

    • A standard checkerboard and peppermints in two colors are all you need to play a game of checkers with a peppermint twist. You can also use red and green Hershey's Kiss candies or mini Santas and snowmen for playing pieces.

    Musical Chairs

    • Musical chairs with a Christmas theme music roster is a fun game for kids. The Christmas music adds a holiday feel to a classic game.

    Stocking Stuffer

    • Divide kids into two teams and give each team a bowl of Christmas candy with a spoon. Hang two stockings at one end of the room and let the teams race to see which can fill up its stocking with candy first. To make the game a little trickier, make a rule that states no candy can be dropped between the bowl and the stocking. The first team to fill its stocking wins.
