Mandarijn
Definition:
Mandarijn = Mandarin Orange
Mandarin Oranges are in season around Christmas time, which makes them a a natural stocking stuffer. This fruit goes by many different names in English, which can be confusing: satsuma, clementine, tangerine etc. According to my fellow guide, there is a reason for this: all of these are simply varieties of mandarin orange.
Did you know that the reason mandarin oranges taste so mild is because they have about 40% less vitamin C than other citrus fruits like oranges, lemons and grapefruit?
Sprinkling some lemon juice over your mandarin orange segments can pep up the flavor (and add vitamins).
