Snowboard Leashes and Stomp Pads

When you get your snowboard you should have attached to it what's called a leash. After you decide whether you're goofy or regular you want to have your leash attached to your downhill foot. The purpose of the leash is to keep your board from flying down the hill at 90 mph, which as you can imagine can be very dangerous. As an experienced snowboard it's bad to admit its fun when you see one of these go by you because you get to chase it and look like a super hero when you catch it. So strap your leash to your laces on your boot and the binding of your board. The actual odds of your bindings coming undone are slim to none. The only time I ever see a board go flying down the hill is when beginners are strapping in at the top of the hill and don't have a hold of their board and they drop it.

Also on your board you should have what is called a stomp pad. The purpose of a stomp pad is to keep your foot from sliding around when your back foot isn't strapped into your board. A stomp pad is going to be placed somewhere between your feet. I personally have only met one person who doesn't have or like a stomp pad, but he's an incredible snowboarder. Personally I like stomp pads, I like them so much I have two, one by my back foot and on by my front foot, mostly for if I ride switch. I just like to put my foot down and know it's not going anywhere. They make cool stomp pads in all sorts of designs, styles, and what have you. One of mine is a 6 pack of "Stomp" beer, pretty sweet. So when you're going to buy a stomp pad, do some shopping because you will probably be able to find about anything you want.
