How to Operate a Wood Chipper
- 1). Decide if you need a smaller model chipper that grinds branches less than 2 inches in diameter or a larger one that handles branches up to 4 inches in diameter.
- 2). Read the directions in the operator's manual.
- 3). Wear close-fitting clothing, long pants, sturdy boots, safety glasses and ear protection.
- 4). Use a properly rated extension cord for an electric model.
- 5). Place the chipper on level ground
- 6). Make sure all guards and safety shields are in place.
- 7). Start the chipper at the slowest speed.
