    • 1). Work on a flat surface such as a table. Lay out your paints, brushes and pallet, and fill the cup with water. The brushes should range from large to extremely small. This will allow you to get the texture that you're looking for. Use paints with latex in them so that they will bend and move with your face. Choose one base color, two shadowing colors, and a highlighting color.

    • 2). Paint all of the areas you want to be "hairy" with the base color. In order to look like a werewolf, the base color should cover your chin, cheeks, lips, and an arched line that dips down in between your eyebrows. However, you will not need to use any more paint on your lips. Lips on a werewolf are typically not hairy, just the surrounding area. Use the large round brush. You should paint your cheeks and chin along with the area across your eyebrows and then your nose. Your nose will stay the base color unless you choose to do some highlighting shapes with one of the shadowing colors.

    • 3). Paint on the shadow colors. Use the darker color first. This will add texture to the hair. You should use a medium-sized round brush. Do not paint the individual strands with these colors. Paint directly over the base coat after allowing a few minutes for the base coat to dry. Some of the base color should show through the shadow color. Use large streaks to perform this step.

    • 4). Paint individual strands with a small brush using the highlighting color. This step will take up the most of your time. Make sure all other layers of paint are dry before beginning this step.
