Twilight jewelry: Fun stuff inspired by the saga
As the third movie in the Twilight saga is released this summer, Eclipse movie-goers adorn themselves with Twilight-inspired jewelry. Led primarily by the company "Runs with Vampires," teens (and used-to-be-teens) across the globe adorn their wrists, chests, fingers, and ankles with Twilight charms and rings.
The range of Twilight charms is impressive. Some charms are old favorites: a graduation cap or a wolf, both charms re-purposed from other eras. Others are very much Twilight-specific: you can find a charm of baby Renesme, the half-human, half-vampire werewolf child in her crawling stage. (Amazingly, she looks like a crawling baby.) You can even find a charm of the Island on which Bella and Edward had their honeymoon and conceived Renesme. The charm shows the hut where the two had their honeymoon. If you look closely through the window of the hut on that island, perhaps you will even see the torn-up headboard, but it's not clear that the jeweler was able to get to that level of detail.
The most popular charm is the hand-carved wolf charm [http://www.wolfcharm.org] that is a striking likeness to the wolf form of Jacob. There is something about the wooden charm, however, that makes this particular were wolf appear a little more cuddly. A wooden wolf charm representing Jacob and a heart charm as a symbol of Edward would round off a Twilight bracelet quite nicely. On the other hand, you can take the class spirit route, grab a graduation cap and an "FHS" charm to root for good ole Fork High School. Senior class spirit is a great thing. Who says you can't be part of an imaginary high school in Washington? Put together an old truck and a motorbike to identify a bit more with the Jacob free spirit. Combine a sequoia tree charm with a camping tent and that motorcycle and you imagine yourself right there, in the middle of it, wondering when the next vampire gang is going to show. (The tent is not likely going to be a great barrier in that situation so perhaps there should be a wooden stake charm as well. Just a thought.)
Whichever items you put together, you can make your own bracelet or necklace or you can buy one ready to wear. The Twilight ring, too, is really a must-not-miss item. Bella's engagement ring and her wedding ring have inspired some very interesting costume jewelry that will be perfect with your Twilight charm bracelet.
