- 1). Place the Mozoo filter into a bowl of water for 20 minutes to wet the carbon located inside of the filter housing. Allowing the filter to soak in a bowl also cleans the carbon of any carbon dust that settled in the filter during shipping.
- 2). Submerge the filter completely in the filled tank. Press the suction cups on the back of the filter against the back glass of the aquarium. Press firm against the filter to ensure all of the water and air is pressed out of the suction cups. This process ensures a lasting suction against the glass.
- 3). Tie a loose loop with the power cord to act as a drip loop. In the event of power failure, water can leach out of the tank and run down the power cord. If the water reaches the power outlet, a short could be caused when the power comes back on. The drip loop prevents this potential problem. Plug the power cord into the wall to start filtration.
