In contemporary teenage vernacular, an Orange strives to be awesome, bangin', bomb-diggity, boss, coolarific, gnarly, jiggy, killer, phat, rad, savvy, schwank, shagadellic, spankin', sweet, and wicked bad.
In other words, they want to be known as someone who is charismatic, full of energy, very cool, and fun to be around.
Consequently, most extroverted Oranges are remarkably popular, especially at social events.
As a flame attracts moths, Oranges attract attention wherever they go.
People hang around waiting for the Orange to tell a joke, relate recent exploits, or do something completely outrageous.
Oranges like to be known as gutsy trendsetters.
Never content with what the mundane masses do, they prefer to lead off and do something that hasn't been done before--at least by their peer group.
Therefore, they'll be the first to acquire a love interest and the first to have a make-out session.
They'll be the first to wear make-up, dye their hair, shave their heads, get a tattoo or brand, or pierce something besides their ears.
They'll be the first to participate in an extreme sport, enter a drag race, go cliff diving, bungee-jump off a bridge, go skinny-dipping, and crash a motorcycle.
Of course, if this desire isn't channeled in a positive direction, they might also be the first to get expelled from high school, be arrested, try illegal drugs, and so on.
Orange teenagers sometimes get a bad reputation.
Because of their risk-taking, sensation-seeking nature, most people assume that they're hellions out wreaking havoc on the community.
Fortunately, this is hardly the case.
Most Oranges, especially those that are being reared by patient and loving caregivers, channel their seemingly boundless energy in relatively healthy, productive pursuits.
Oh sure, there are a few bad apples (rotten Oranges) roaming around, but there are dysfunctional Blues, Golds and Greens doing the exact same things.
