103 6
If you're thinking about learning Arabic and especially online make sure that you're implementing the following strategies.
Not only will you learn Arabic rapidly but you'll also have a great time in doing so.
Strategy One Clarify you're learning goals.
Be exactly sure right from the beginning why are you learning Arabic.
Is it because you're going to have a vacation in Egypt for two weeks and therefore want to be able to communicate your needs, such as booking yourself in hotels, commuting, buying food, visiting tourist attractions? Or is it that you're going for work and therefore need a more thorough grasp of Arabic? Or is it for relief work? No matter what your need is if you're absolutely sure about your goal for learning Arabic you'll be more focused, more enthusiastic, and more retentive of the material you'll be learning.
Strategy Two Try to engage more than one of your senses while learning.
Let me explain, the traditional book method of learning, for instance, is where you attend classes make notes and then go home and review your work.
But this method can be dull, boring and can get you daydreaming! A better approach would be if you had audio material to listen to, visual material to watch, listening and speaking exercises to practice, and interactive quizzes.
This multi sense engaging approach will make learning more enjoyable, fun and effective.
And as learning experts say 'To learn more you need to use more'.
Strategy Three Study in short bursts.
For instance, study for thirty minutes and then have a five minute break.
After that spend five minutes quickly reviewing what you've just studied and then continue for another twenty five minute session followed by another break and a five minute review period and that would be a sufficient learning period for one day.
You could, however, if you wanted to, increase your study burst sessions.
By implementing this simple strategy your focus and concentration will be maintained from beginning to end.
You'll have two review periods which will greatly assist you in absorbing your learning material easily.
Moreover, and you'll find this out for yourself, you'll cover a lot more material in the long run with an enthusiastic and attentive mood.
