    • Locate "Symantec Solutions" in the Applications folder. When you double-click on the Macintosh HD icon on your desktop, the Applications icon will appear in the left-hand column.

    • Open the "Symantec Solutions" folder and double-click on "Symantec Uninstaller."

    • Select "Norton AntiVirus" when the "Uninstall Symantec Products" window appears. Any other Symantec software you have installed will also appear in this window. Be sure not to check any boxes for applications you don't want to uninstall. Although it will be grayed out, the "Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect" box will automatically be selected. Click "Uninstall."

    • Click "Uninstall" when the "Confirm" box opens. Several items will be listed; this is nothing to be concerned about. Continue with the uninstall.

    • To complete the uninstall, enter your admin password when prompted. You can track the progress of the uninstall by viewing the status bar that appears. When the uninstall is finished, a log may appear of all of the processes that took place during the uninstall. Click the "Close" button.

    • Restart your Mac when prompted to finish the uninstall.
