Info On Hair Perming
Hair perming is a form of hair curling or waving; it's a hair treatment using chemicals that can be used to add curl and body to your hair.The perming process consists of breaking the hair structure which has disulphide bonds which can be broken by putting the chemicals on hairs. This is done in two parts, first is wrapping the hairs in to some curling accessories and then applying that chemical for restructuring the hairs. Ammonium thioglycolate is basic constituent of perming lotion and a neutralizer is applied after the curling lotion is being rinsed away and hairs being given physical shape with the help of curling rods or other accessories. Neutralizing process actually causes most of the damage to the hairs so proper care should be taken while its application.
Types of perming rods are
Straight and Cylindrical
As small is the rod the better the perms would be. Once allowed to take effect, the neutralizer is rinsed away, the rods are removed, and the hair is washed with shampoo and deep conditioner.
Various perm types are;
Natural perms
Spiral perms. Spiral perm is done mostly on longer hairs and they are twisted on the vertical rod. Different perm rods are used to get different type of perms.
There are many disadvantages of hair perming. First and foremost is excessive dryness. Dandruff is one major side effect. Allergies to scalp may also develop.
Extra care needed for permed hairs;
Use special conditioner for perked hairs after every shampoo.
After hair wash don't use towel instead let it dry itself as towel turban will not let hairs to attain their actual curls when being removed as hairs get tangled up.
Use comb only when hairs get started to dry and use wide toothed one. Avoid brushing wet hairs. Start combing from the roots towards the scalp.
Do a lot of oiling before every hair wash. Olive oil mixed with glycerin and castor oil is recommended.
