How to Use the Self Clean on a Kenmore Stove
- 1). Remove everything from the oven, including racks, foil, pans and oven liners.
- 2). Wipe up any greasy spills with a damp cloth. Leaving too much grease in the oven during the self-cleaning cycle can start a fire.
- 3). Close and lock the oven door. Press the "Clean" button or turn the knob to "Clean". Some Kenmore ovens have a self-clean timer. Set it to three hours, the average amount of time it takes for a self-cleaning cycle.
- 4). Fill a sink with hot water and a small amount of dish soap. Scrub the racks with soapy water and steel wool.
- 5). Rinse the racks with clean water and dry them with a towel.
- 6). Wipe out the oven with a damp cloth when the cycle is finished and the oven is cool. Replace the racks and add a new oven liner if you wish.
