- 1). Wipe the table down with a damp cloth to remove any dust or dirt from the surface. Dry the table with a clean towel.
- 2). Press a superfine steel wool soap pad into the rusted area and rub the area in a gentle, circular motion. Continue scrubbing the rusted area of the table with the steel wool until the rust is gone. Repeat on each rusted area of the table.
- 3). Wipe the table again with a damp cloth to rinse off the rust particles and soapy residue from the steel wool soap pad.
- 4). Squeeze a dime-sized amount of chrome polish onto an old cotton tee shirt. Buff the polish into the areas of the table that you scrubbed with the steel wool. This will remove any scratches in the chrome left by the steel wool. Rinse the area as directed on the polish package.
