Coventry Employment Solicitor Criticises Cafe Manager"s Dismissal

To lose one's job can be a difficult experience to deal with, especially at such times of financial and employment unrest; this is why some companies offer their redundant employees a pay off or package to help them on their way to finding a new job.
This is perfectly understandable, as the employees may be parting ways on good terms, and the employers may wish them all the best for the future and the bonus is a thank you for the good work that they have put in over the years.
However, even the most generous of redundancy packages can not be enough to fill the emotional damage done by an improper dismissal; if the correct procedures are not followed then the employee can feel unappreciated, and their confidence shattered.
This was the case when a Coventry cafe decided to get rid of a catering manager without following the proper procedures and left the manager without a job or a decent enough reference required for her to apply for another position at the same level.
The catering manager, who had worked in the cafe for over four years was dismissed from her position without prior warning or consultation, despite her hard work in the establishment and running of the business.
She went straight to a Coventry employment solicitor to seek legal advice on what her best options were and was advised to sue her previous employers for not only unfair dismissal but the unfair deduction of wages and holiday pay.
After neither of the cafe's owners turned up to the employment hearing, the catering manager was awarded over £9,000 which included a 10% penalty uplift because her employers had breached the Employment Rights Act.
After all the fuss had died down, the manager was successful in gaining a position at a new firm within the catering industry.
Now, although the manager finally gained a generous redundancy package, she had to fight tooth and nail for it and her employers were hardly forthcoming with their offers; she should not have had to go through the rigmarole of legal battles and court disputes in order to gain the compensation for losing her job, which was an unfair dismissal in the first place.
If you have lost your job unfairly and think that you require a redundancy package that was not offered buy your employers, or have any other queries about your employment status, then contact a Coventry Employment solicitor for some top quality legal advice.
