How to Retrieve Fees From a Bad Attorney
- 1). Compose a letter to your attorney stating why you feel entitled to a refund. Be factual and specific regarding any perceived negligence.
- 2). Print and sign the letter, address your envelope, affix sufficient postage and mail it to your attorney's law firm. Keep a copy for your own files.
- 3). Find the name of the managing or supervising attorney and communicate with him directly if your letter did not achieve the desired result.
- 4). Contact your state bar association if your letters to the firm have not brought you satisfaction, or if the attorney in question works as a sole practitioner.
