Live Shrimp

• 1). Pick up a shrimp from the bait container. Hold it by the carapace, the hard shell on the back.
  
  
• 2). Insert the hook under the shrimp and into the main body. Push it in so the barbed hook ends up facing the front of the shrimp, but comes out at the shrimp's back, underside.
  
  
• 3). Cast the shrimp out and retrieve using the reel so the shrimp head faces the rod and reel.
  
  

Dead Shrimp

• 1). Cut a dead shrimp off at the head, leaving the tail and carapace. Discard the head.
  
  
• 2). Push the hook up and through the carapace so the main tail is facing back and away form the rod and reel.
  
  
• 3). Push the barb out so it is down and out at the tail of the shrimp.
