If you've spent any time at all trying to get your ex back, you know how hard it can be to talk to them, let alone make plans to get back together.
 It's as if you are suddenly a stranger in their life.
 In fact, one of the most depressing things about talking to your ex after a breakup is how cold they suddenly are towards you.
  However, what you need to realize is that they really have no choice in the matter.
 They broke up with you for a reason and they aren't about to give in when you come around trying to talk them back into the relationship.
    You need to know that your ex didn't come to this decision on a whim.
 They've likely gone through an incredible amount of guilt and sadness on their way to coming to the decision to dump you.
 Unless they absolutely hate you, you can bet that this is affecting them more than they let on.
  This is why just about any advice you get will suggest that you leave your ex alone for a while.
 Nothing is going to be solved in the short term.
 No matter what you say or do, you'll never convince them to give in so soon.
 Keep in mind that they also want to walk away with a little integrity intact.
 What would it look like if they suddenly change their mind a day later and gave you another chance? Don't you think they'd come off as being indecisive, wishy-washy, and insincere?   They don't hate you   So if you're having a complete emotional breakdown because your ex is treating you so poorly, keep in mind the reasons behind it.
 It's very, very unlikely that they actually hate you.
  If you insist on trying to work things out, you're only going to dig yourself a deeper hole.
If you continue to pester your ex, you're only validating that the decision they made was the correct one.
  Give them some space - you've really got no choice.
