Nucifera
Definition:
A species name of nucifera indicates that the tree or shrub bears nuts.
Related species names include nucifer and nuciferum.
One of the most well-known examples of a plant with the species name of nucifera is the coconut palm (Cocos nucifera). Strangely enough, it is actually a dry drupe, not a botanical nut. It can also be called a drupaceous nut.
Other trees and shrubs with nucifera or nuciferum as the species:
- Caryocar nuciferum (Sawari nut) - tree
- Dicella nucifera (Chestnut vine) - liana
- Torreya nucifera (Japanese Nutmeg-yew) - tree
