How to Cut Viburnum Roots
- 1). Put on your gardening gloves to protect your hands when pulling on viburnum roots.
- 2). Examine the base of the plant where it meets the soil. To keep the plant healthy, remove any roots that are sticking up from the ground vertically. It is best to do this in late fall before the ground hardens.
- 3). Grasp the clippers by their handles and trim off the offending viburnum roots where they poke out of the soil. Discard the roots in a yard waste bag or compost pile.
