    Grounds for Wrongful Termination

    • Wrongful termination only applies to cases where employers have fired or laid off employees in violation of the law. If you were fired as a result of discrimination because of your gender, race, religious beliefs, disability, or as a result of sexual harassment, you may have a case. If you were fired because you were a whistle-blower, or in violation of labor laws or your own employment contract, you may also be a victim of wrongful termination.

    • If you are wrongfully termination, you should contact an employee rights attorney. You should find out why you were fired and who fired you, and should look at your personnel file. You should get written documentation of your firing and gather any evidence of promises your employer made to you that he may now be in breach of, including your employment contract.
