How to Trim a Sage Bush
- 1). Cut back your sage with your pruning shears when the bush threatens to overtake your yard. Cut the bush down to half of its original height.
- 2). Cut the outer stems of the sage bush to the ground if the plant is becoming too wide.
- 3). Cut out dead branches with your pruning shears. Sage tends to develop dead branches in the center of the plant as it ages. Cut dead branches at ground level.
