Beat the Summer Slowdown With Strategic Marketing

103 10
With summer just around the corner, have you planned out your Summer strategy? In the beauty industry, many businesses see a drop in appointments during this time of year.
There are many variables that go into the reason behind the drop; however, if you plan out a strategic Summer marketing plan now, you can prevent the slow summer slump from affecting your business.
First, take some time to think about this shift in your client's behavior.
Many of them have checked out for the summertime, enjoying the carefree summer fun.
With their change, your marketing needs to adapt along with them.
Really think about the change in your client's lifestyle and behavior during the summer months, what are they going to be doing, what are their skin/hair needs going to be, and then begin your marketing strategy.
Now, look at the areas of your business that tend to slow down and the areas that are doing better.
Now is when you get a little creative.
For example, let's say you own a Spa and during the Summer months, you have a drop in massage appointments, but a rise in pedicures & waxing.
Why not create a Seasonal Summer Menu with various Spa Getaway Packages where you combo some popular and not so popular services for a package price? You not only boost the ticket price of the normal straight service client, but now you have also had the opportunity to introduce them to a new service in your business.
Remember though, when running summer offers, do not extend them past Summer, no matter how popular they are.
Keep in mind that your Summer marketing plan should not be one sided.
You should get your staff involved in the marketing as well to help drive sales and summer promotions.
Running a staff contest during this time of year is a great way to keep staff motivated and engaged in the company when they too wish they were on vacation.
If you haven't run a staff contest before, we recommend surveying your staff in order to see what would motivate them to participate in the contest.
Don't forget to set goals for your staff to focus on and track the results.
Good summer strategies can energize your staff and catapult your business into a busy season.
Just because its summer doesn't mean it has to be slow for your business when you take a step back and create a well thought out and planned Summer marketing plan.
