How to Format Time in APA Format
- 1). Add "GMT" at the beginning of your listed time. This denotes Greenwich Mean Time and indicates the time format you'll be using in your reference.
- 2). Cite the time that the reference was posted using the 24 hour clock system. For example, 8:30 PM would read as "20:30:00"; the last two numbers denote the seconds in which the reference was posted. If you do not know the exact seconds, use two zeros. Your time citation now reads: "GMT 20:30:00".
- 3). Enter the time immediately after the date of your reference.
