How to Get a New Jersey State ID if Homeschooled
- 1). Gather the original documents to pass the 6-point verification. The state of New Jersey requires that you provide one primary document (birth certificate, adoption papers or certificate of citizenship) along with one secondary document (social security card, bank statement or ATM card) that each are given a set number of points. For example, a birth certificate is worth four points, meaning you can bring a social security card and ATM card in order to accumulate the remaining two points.
- 2). Provide a proof of address form and a valid social security number. Since you are still home schooled, have your parent or guardian consent that you are still living at home with them as proof of address. Bring your original social security card with you to avoid any problems.
- 3). Fill out the BA-207 form. This form is found at the DMV and will ask basic information, such as your name and type of license or identification you are applying for. Complete the form and submit it to the DMV representative. The representative will also ask you to present the original documents for the 6-point ID verification.
- 4). Pay the fee in order to complete the process. You will then be asked to take a photo for the ID.
