- 1). Visit the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development website. Go to the Prevailing Wage Rate Determination section to find the prevailing wage rates based on the county in which you performed the work and your job type.
- 2). Contact the company you're contracted with if you need specific rates not listed on the labor board's website. The New Jersey labor board lists prevailing wage rates at the request of the contracting public institution. Therefore, if the rates for a particular job are not listed, consult with the contracting company.
- 3). Calculate your prevailing wages, which are based on the hourly rate, fringe benefit hourly rate, and the total hourly rate. Add the hourly rate to the fringe benefit hourly rate to get your total hourly rate.
