Blogitis is a real disease, you may think of it as a joke but blogitis is actually associated with addiction to blogging or blog reading.
It may sound funny but if you have a habit of checking out certain set of blogs frequently, it is possible that you are addicted to blogs and may be suffering from blogitis.
People suffering from blogitis can be considered to be in any one of the two phases - active or passive.
A person suffering from passive phase of blogitis may have an addiction to certain blogs and may check out these particular blogs off and on for updates.
Many people who have such an addiction often own other devices such as PSP, Blackberry etc.
that can help them access the internet even if a computer is not available.
Those who are in active phase of blogitis are generally addicted to blogging.
For many people who lead a lonely life, blogging has become an interesting way of communicating with other people, some people tend to get excited after posting a blog post and check the blog frequently to see if anybody has posted any new comment on their blog etc.
Common symptoms of blogitis are - being too anxious about your blogs, to have multiple blogs or to frequently post content on the blog and check if you have received any response on it.
Another interesting sign is that if you have associated your blog with Google's ad sense or analytic program and you check the traffic and your accounts several times an hour to see how many visitors you have had and how many people clicked on your ads.
Searching for your blog on the search engine again and again using relevant keywords to see where it stands is also another symptom of blogitis.
