Work accidents can result in accident claims in many different work environments.
Most people believe that accidents only occur at jobs that require extensive manual labor.
This is a common misconception that causes thousands of claims to not get properly filled.
There are several reasons why people decide to not file claims.
I happen to work in the corporate office of a large international corporation.
Accidents occur from time to time which range from slips on wet floors to back injuries from carrying boxes of copy paper.
Some accidents are very small, yet serious.
When these accidents occur, employees who suffer the injuries rarely report a claim.
They feel that they will be labeled as a troublemaker which may ultimately affect their career growth.
When accident claims go undocumented several risks can be created.
Say for example an employee injures their hand with a stapler during the normal course of the work day.
He or she might then be distracted by the injury while driving and cause a serious accident.
The injury could also affect their life outside of work.
It could make it so they have trouble sleeping, or cannot play with their children.
Some small injuries later become large injuries.
If left undocumented there would be no way to be compensated in the long run.
Injuries specifically related to the lower back are commonly reinjured throughout an adult life if proper treatment isn't received soon after the injury.
I highly recommend immediately filing accident claims immediately after the accident has occurred.
By doing so, at the very least there will be documented evidence that it had occurred which can be used at a later date.
