I don't think a day goes by that I don't hear a woman say, "I want to earn money but I also want to be home with my children.
" I was actually in that exact situation when I became involved in direct sales.
I had a new baby and knew I wanted to be home and not have her in daycare.
I found direct sales to be the perfect answer.
There are several reasons why direct sales are a great choice for moms: 1.
The start up cost is very minimal.
Most companies can get you started for under $100.
For many, this is the cost of a few meals out.

The hours worked are very flexible.
I'm a strong supporter of "you must work your business each and every day but the time invested is at your discretion".

The house does not need to be quiet for you to work.
I know women who work for call centers and their homes must be silent for them to take the incoming calls.
With direct sales, having some background noise is perfectly ok.

You don't need any specialized training or experience.
Sometimes I see telecommute positions offered and the experience they want can not be met by many women looking for a source of income.

I've moved about fifteen times since I began in direct sales.
For anyone who does not stay in the same house or same town for long periods of time, direct sales is perfect.
When I move, the business transition is flawless.
No one even knows I've moved unless I tell them.

The cost to continue running the business is very small.
Many direct sales distributors do purchase company websites which are almost always under $10 per month.
Usually one sale will pay this fee.
You can sell your demonstration products at cost.
The only other fee is the catalogs.
I've found most companies offer catalogs at very reasonable prices.

One benefit I've heard many times over the years is that direct sales provide a social outlet for many moms who otherwise might be home all day.
In direct sales, you'll be meeting other people both online and offline.
I know I've made some terrific friends over the years.

There are very few "have to's" As you advance up in your company, you may have some quotas to meet.
These are usually very minimal and very achievable.

You won't need to re-invent the wheel.
You don't have to design catalogs or manufacture products.
You don't have to write policies and procedures.
Everything is already in place.

Branding of the company is done by the company.
You'll have to market yourself and your own individual business but the company usually works on branding the company name.
