- Great Pyramid at Giza
The Great Pyramid at Giza in Cairo, Egypt, is the only one of the seven wonders still standing today. Historians believe the pyramid was built around 2560 B.C. - The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, near the Euphrates River, south of Baghdad, were built around 600 B.C. The gardens were probably destroyed by an earthquake.
- The Statue of Zeus and the Colossus at Rhodes were both located in Greece. The Statue of Zeus was built around 450 B.C., and the Colossus was built around 280 B.C.
- The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus and the Tomb of Maussollos at Halicarnassus were both located in Turkey. The temple was built around 550 B.C., and the tomb was built around 353 B.C.
- Besides the Great Pyramid, the Lighthouse of Alexandria was also built in Egypt. The lighthouse was built in the third century B.C.
- Some people suggest that there are other magnificent structures that should be included on the list of wonders, like the Great Wall of China or the Aztec Temple in Tenochtitlan, Mexico.
