- 1). Check the cord connected to the tool for wear or damage before connecting the plug to a live electrical outlet. Damaged wires can cause electrical shock or fires if not repaired or replaced prior to use.
- 2). Use an electrical outlet tester to be sure the 3-wire outlet is correctly wired and grounded before plugging the electrical cord into the outlet.
- 3). Connect the plug to a live electrical outlet that matches the plug attached to the table saw. If the available electrical outlet does not match the prong pattern on the electrical wire, pick one up at your local home improvement retailer or electrical parts supply store.
- 4). Install the electrical outlet with the correct prong pattern in the available electrical box according to manufacturer installation instructions.
