Sweden Vacation and the Best Hotels in Stockholm - Where to Eat, Stay, and Explore
My two-week long vacation in Sweden wouldn't have been complete without checking out all the best attractions that this country has to offer, including the best hotels in Stockholm.
I've been to a couple of the best museums, and I'd say that I'm still looking to see and experience more in this memorable traveling.
I have always been intrigued about the Swedish way of life so in my recent Stockholm travel, I decided to do a little exploring by myself.
I found out that there are about 165 hotels in Stockholm alone and I stayed at this wonderful hotel called Hotel Rival which is ranked the number 3 choice of the best hotels in Stockholm.
The rooms are enormous and meticulously designed and with really comfortable beds.
The bathrooms are huge and immaculately clean as well.
Even though a lot of modern design touches have been done, it is pretty obvious that this hotel has been in existence for quite some time and one of the best indeed.
Another thing that I liked about hotels like this in Stockholm is that internet access was never a problem.
There was also this little cafe next door that offers light, delectable meals and drinks with awesome service.
This made a pretty good jump off point for me.
It allowed me to meet some locals and gave me the chance to ask them for any travel recommendations as to which places to check out and explore.
During my Stockholm travel, one of the places I have been told to check out was Skokloster Slott Castle.
It is an imposing 17th-century castle and is considered as one of the most enchanting baroque museums in all of Europe.
It is acclaimed for its phenomenal interiors and its extensive collection of paintings, furniture, tapestries, weapons and books.
Their automobile museum is something that one should not miss, plus, they even have their own restaurant so finding something to eat is really convenient.
If you want to have a glimpse of how the Vikings lived, all you have to do is travel an 18-mile trip from Stockholm to the Viking Town of Birka which is situated on a flourishing island in Lake Malaren.
For over 1,200 years this town has been a major port.
Today, a new museum houses timeless treasure found with lengthy excavations just around the area.
A little trip away from Stockholm, I also visited Gripsholm Castle since this was conveniently within the Lake Maaleren area.
It is located in the small town of Mariested.
Its marvelous castle built in 1540 during the renaissance period.
Gripsholm contained remarkable renaissance interiors including a theatre.
They also take pride in having the world's best, oldest and largest portrait collections.
Seeing these places in Sweden felt like I was being transported back in time.
I went back to my hotel satisfied with all the wonderful places I got to travel and visit for the day and planned on checking out the Kingdom of Crystal which was next on my travel list.
I got up early and had a quick lunch and found myself taking a trip to southeastern Sweden.
The province of Smaland is where the Kingdom Of Crystal is located and is where the world's best and famous glasswork can be found.
It came into existence in 1742 and I was surprised to find out that they still create handmade masterpieces to this day.
The Glasshouse is where you would see the glass-workers in front of the furnaces.
You will not regret taking this trip especially if you are looking for crystal treasures at a reasonable price.
The memories of my Stockholm travel and checking out the best hotels in Stockholm would always be vivid in my mind.
There is just so much to see and I am looking forward to visiting these extraordinary hotels and places in the future.
