Doctor Who ‘Dinosaurs on a Spaceship’ Review
The year was 1334 BC and the Doctor was stuck with Queen Nefertiti in Egypt who refuses to let him go without repaying him when suddenly, he received a call from the Indian Space Agency in in 2367 A.D., informing him of a spaceship that's about to collide with Earth in 6 hours. They told him that once it gets too close, they will be forced to launch a missile attack. It was up to the Doctor to stop it but before that, he must get a team. He checked in first at the African Plains to get hunky explorer John Ridell in 1902 A.D, followed by Amy and Rory Ponds. The Doctor made a mistake of picking up Brian as well who had just been replacing a light bulb at that time.
When the crew materialized at the ship, the first thing they saw were a pair of Ankylosaurus. The Doctor commanded the computer to teleport them to the engine room but they were taken to a beach instead. It turned out that the ship ran on energy generated by waves. At the same time, it served as home for the pterodactyls.
Meanwhile, Amy tinkered with the computer when suddenly, a Silurian flashed on the screen, talking about planet domination. They realized they were on a Silurian ark that carried dinosaurs on board before a meteor could put them to extinction. However, the computer didn't detect any Silurian on board.
They ran into a couple of robots who took them to their human boss Solomon whose leg is badly injured from a Raptor attack. Naturally, he wanted the Doctor to treat it. Amy called to tell them about what she discovered but Solomon said he exterminated all of the Silurians to have the dinosaurs for himself and put them up on the black market. The vile bounty hunter that he was, he looked everyone up on his database for what they worth and found that Nefertiti is quite a commodity. And so Solomon demanded them to bring Nefertiti to him but when the Doctor refused, he demonstrated the lengths he would take to have her by killing a Triceratops and vowed to do the same to his crew. The Egyptian Queen submits herself but the Doctor, of course, had a few tricks up his sleeve.
While Ridell and Amy were busy shooting Raptors with tranquilizers and Rory and Brian were steering the ship, Solomon took off with Nefertiti in another ship. The cunning Doctor was able to rescue the Queen though and tells her abductor of a tracking device on his getaway ship which ISA missiles have locked onto. That saw the end of Solomon.
Having completed the mission, it was time for the crew to return to their respective abodes, or their home of choice. Nefertiti opted to be with Ridell at the African Plains instead while Amy and Rory chose the home they've always had. Brian, on the other hand, took the opportunity to orbit the Earth.
