Strollers - The Many Makes and Models

When it comes times to purchase a stroller it can be a very confusing time.
On the market today are many makes and models all with different frills and features making it hard to make a decision on what you should buy.
Your have traditional strollers, umbrella strollers, 4 wheel, 3 wheel, joggers, tandems, and multiple riders.
These all come with varied attachments such as rain/wind covers, bug protector covers and sun covers.
Traditional strollers tend to have non-swivel wheels and because of this are hard to maneuver.
You then have umbrella strollers which are a step up from the traditional stroller and they too can range in price and style, the cheaper they are the closer they are to the traditional stroller.
Whereas the more expensive Umbrella stroller can come with plush seat covers, rain proof canopies, wind and rain covers and different ways to lock and unlock wheels and brakes.
The umbrella strollers are usually one of the lightest strollers on the market and are brilliant for throwing in the boot of the car.
Due to the lightness they are also easier to topple, it is best to either carry your bag or place it under the stroller rather than attaching it to the handles of the stroller.
4 Wheel and 3 Wheel strollers are very similar with most manufacturers having designs in both.
They also usually are for jogging especially the 3 wheel versions where the wheel base is two at the back and one at the front.
These strollers do also come in multi-rider versions where a toddler seat is either attached to the front or the back of the stroller meaning you can get yeas of use out of it as you can use it for more than one child at the same time.
Jogger strollers do tend to be on the heavier side so be aware when purchasing of the weight of the stroller as lifting it in and out of the car boot may be a problem.
Also the folded size of the stroller with a smaller car as it may not fit.
If you are having multiples there are also options out there for you.
Multiple strollers come in a number of difference configurations such as tandem, stadium or side by side.
Tandem is when children are one behind the other, stadium is the same as tandem except the seat behind is raised slightly so the child in the back can see easier.
Side by side are where the children sit in their own seat but next to each other which is great but makes for a rather wide stroller which may be harder for accessing some stores and doorways.
All strollers come with 5 point harness for safety and a storage area underneath some with more than others.
Now days for safety with strollers they now come with a wrist strap so your stroller can not run away from you if you forget to put the break on.
There are many brands on the market some to look at are the Phil & Teds, McClaren, Peg Perego and Bugaboo.
There are many other brands but these are some of the main ones.
