Trincomalee better known as Trinco by both locals and visitors is located in the North Eastern coast of Sri Lanka. The name of this township, Trincomalee has its origins from the Tamil word Tirukonamalai. In ancient times the port of Trincomalee was called Gokarna.

Located 250 km away from Colombo it is a natural harbour and in fact one of the best natural harbours in the world. Not just at present, it has always been a port of great importance even from the time of travellers such as Marco Polo.
