NLP: Tapping Into the Power of the Master Mind

103 1
Napolean Hill defines a mastermind group as "The coordination of knowledge and effort of two or more people, who work toward a definite purpose, in the spirit of harmony.
" He goes on to say that this synergy creates a force that is "likened to a third mind [the master mind].
" Does that excite you like it does me? I recently met with a member of a mastermind group that I have been running.
We realized that we are in different fields, but want to market to the same group of people.
As we sat there at Starbucks, I had my tea and my note sheet.
It is unlined, I make drawings, doodles and notes.
He had coffee.
His note sheet was lined.
His handwriting perfectly neat, everything was orderly.
A good divergence in style can create a more powerful master mind.
We first talked about our day's events, then got to the task at hand.
We each mentioned that we were there to help the other.
A spirit of win-win is certainly an important element that will help insure the longevity of the master mind.
We were both writing down our own ideas, and some of the other's ideas.
There was one point when it seemed we had only made just a little headway when I looked at something on his page.
This was "What do the (group of people we are marketing to) want?" That is something so basic in marketing, yet I did not include that in my outline.
That sparked an idea that could be very powerful in enrolling these people as clients.
The process was so enjoyable, so elegant and very fruitful.
The main elements were: Basic connection on a human level and win-win for all.
I would like to add another element here, that is an amplification to a higher purpose.
This amplification is: What is it that we could focus on that would make it a much more powerful win-win? How can we expand this in scope, how can we expand this in locality? How could more people benefit from our actions.
In a larger mastermind of which we are both a part, I am also noticing that different people hold different parts of the puzzle.
We may have forgotten that piece, or it may be new to us.
Either way it is exhilarating to share ideas.
I am still fascinated by what Napolean Hill wrote about a "third mind.
" This meeting was only with two people.
