A week where Entrepreneurship has been celebrated the World's leading economies have identified that the best way out of a recession is to have a new wave of business owners that create new employment. Guccud Ventures being a new business in Birmingham, with business owner Anthony Brown being a graduate; discuss whether this is a true fact and an indicator of change.

The economy is recessed and a new generation of workforce is emerging with thousands of graduates still unemployed or in jobs with no career opportunities.

Anthony Brown Managing Director of Guccud Ventures believes creating opportunities for yourself is the best way to kick start a career. Looking at the most successful people over the last 10 years 95% of them are business owners, so this is reflective of the fact that being your own boss leads to greater opportunities.

"If we had a thriving entrepreneurial economy, the speed we'd come out of the downturn would be transformational, but our culture does not encourage it. We need to get serious about inspiring young people to set up their own businesses"

- Peter Jones (former BBC Dragon/ successful Entrepreneur).

With 5.8 percent of our population starting a business, comparing to China the leading economy in the world today at 19 percent, attitudes towards being a business owner are not changing.

"This is bad news for the 20 per cent of graduates at the moment who can't find work"

- Donata Huggins, writing in the City Am

With the majority of secondary students preferring to work in sectors such as Law, Health and Social Care and Education; the 3 sectors that have had the largest amount of job losses during the last 3 years.

"It is an interesting topic, I don't believe that the potential business owners of tomorrow are being given the right education that prepares them for the "real world" of work" says Anthony Brown Managing Director of Guccud Ventures

Business Secretary Vince Cable backed David Cameron's focus on self-employment and small business creation during Global Entrepreneurship Week UK (GEW), "Self employment grows into small companies; small companies grow into large companies.

Entrepreneurship Week is about how we get that pipeline working,"
Anthony Brown managing Director of Guccud Ventures believes that the future of the UK economy lies in the hands of the young entrepreneur today, if the majority of graduates started businesses then that would create a new wave of opportunities for the next generation. The freedoms of the self made business person outweigh the costs of starting a business; hard work, sacrifice, dedication and a support network are key ingredients for success.

"It is out there you just have to grab the opportunities as they come".
