Recipes You Should Have in Your Diabetic Cookbook
Everyday we are tempted, tempted to do things we know are bad for our bodies but it just tastes so good.
We all know we want what we can't have, and for some diabetics it could be deadly.
If you are in the mood for something sweet I have just the answer.
Here is a great recipe for oatmeal raisin cookies ( made with apple sauce).
The ingredients are as followed: 1 1/2 c.
unsweetened applesauce, 3/4 c.
margarine, 2 eggs, 1 tbsp.
vanilla, 1/3 c.
Brown Sugar (substitute), 2 c.
oatmeal, 1/2 tsp.
allspice 1 tbsp cinnamon, 1 1/2 c.
flour, 1 1/2 tsp.
baking soda, 1/2 tsp.
salt 1 c.
raisins 1/4 c.
nuts (optional) Please remember to Preheat the oven to 375 Mix applesauce, margarine, eggs, vanilla, and brown sugar (substitute) well.
Then add the remaining ingredients and mix together.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet and place in center of the oven bake 10 minutes at 375 degrees and turn pan around and let bake for another 5 minutes.
As you can tell it really isn't much different from a regular oatmeal raisin cookie.
It just goes to show that just because you are a diabetic doesn't mean that you have to live a bland boring life.
Trust me these cookies will not disappoint.
Children and adults (behaving like children) will keep coming back for more of that wonderful treat.
Go ahead, treat yourself.
I promise your taste buds will thank you (and me) the moment that cookie meets tour mouth.
Please remember to check your sugar levels daily.
