- 1). Insert the flash drive into the USB port on your computer. After a few moments, the flash drive icon should appear on your screen.
- 2). Click on the flash drive icon. A box will open with a list of files that are stored on the flash drive.
- 3). Select the file you want to load onto your computer, then click "Open." The file will be opened in the matching program on your computer. For example, if it is a Word document, the file will open in your word processing program (such as Word or Pages).
- 4). Wait until the file is downloaded, then right click on the icon and click "Eject Flash Drive." When you are prompted to do so, remove the flash drive from the USB port.
