How to Pack for a Honeymoon
On top of all your other wedding details, there's how to pack for a honeymoon. If you're like most couples, you're heading some place warm and beachy. Whether or not that's your preferred destination, here's what to do to get your honeymoon off to a good start.

Here's How:
- Create a honeymoon wardrobe calendar. List each day that you'll be away. Divide each day into Morning and Night, with a column for Travel on the days when you're on the road.
Match your itinerary to your calendar. For instance, if you're leaving on an early-morning flight, you'll need one outfit. You'll want to change once you arrive. Going out to dinner? That's a third outfit of the day. And if you're wearing honeymoon lingerie, that's your fourth. Now multiply those changes x the number of days in your vacation, and you'll see why you need a wardrobe calendar.
- Select proper luggage. Airlines have turned baggage into a revenue stream for themselves, so you'll want to travel as light as possible. Opt for four-wheeled spinner suitcases that make even the heaviest bags a breeze to transport by yourself.
- Choose a color palette. If you're like most people, when you look in your closet you see a preponderance of one shade or color family. Select garments that you can mix and match.
- Study the weather. Will you be traveling from a warm climate to a cool one, or vice versa? By knowing normal temperatures for your destination, you can figure out what's appropriate to pack.
- Make a packing list. Clothing isn't the only thing you'll need on your honeymoon vacation. This this vacation packing list can help to remind you not to leave anything important or irreplaceable home.
- Plan your carry-on bag contents. Imagine your checked luggage didn't make it onto the plane and you had to wait a day or more to get it (trust me; this can happen). Would you have all the basics you need in your carry-on: Medicines, cosmetics, trip itinerary, a change of underwear and outfit? To be on the safe side, include an entire outfit in your carry-on. You never know.
- Roll 'em. One of the most efficient ways to pack is to roll items tightly. It's a real space saver. If you're worried about wrinkles, just about every hotel has an iron and ironing board in the closet. Or pack a portable fabric steamer (compare prices).
Tips:
- Don't pack more than you need.
- Not comfortable rolling your garments? Use a generous amount of tissue paper instead.
