The Beach House HAS CLOSED.:

REVIEW NO LONGER DESCRIBES THE PROPERTY. The Beach House offers luxury and sophistication while making visitors feel like personal guests at a friend’s beach house. The spacious lobby has open walls, enabling sea breezes to waft through on all four sides. Nearly everything is white — the walls, the upholstery, and the curtains. The lobby opens onto a gorgeous turquoise pool.

Just beyond is a stretch of white sand, followed by a blue-green strip of ocean. Children are not permitted.

CLOSED Guest Rooms at the Beach House:

REVIEW NO LONGER DESCRIBES THE PROPERTY. The Beach House has 20 oceanfront view junior suites with sitting areas and one one-bedroom oceanfront suite. They are all as light and airy as the lobby, and they are similarly decorated almost completely in pristine white. All have ocean views, private terraces, cappuccino machines, personal DVD players, king size four-poster beds, Italian linen sheets, goose feather comforters and pillows, and luxurious amenities perfect for pampering in the completely white bathrooms.

CLOSED Dining at the Beach House:

REVIEW NO LONGER DESCRIBES THE PROPERTY. The Beach House has one restaurant, the Club House, which serves a variety of cuisines, and a full bar. Food and beverage service is also available everywhere on property, including in the rooms and on the beach. Breakfast and dinner are included, and lunch and alcoholic beverages are available at an extra charge.

The house specialty is Barbuda lobster, caught locally but mainly exported to France. Dessert may include a tropical fruit cup or dark chocolate souffle with coconut cream sauce.

Weddings, Honeymoons, and Romantic Getaways at the Beach House:

REVIEW NO LONGER DESCRIBES THE PROPERTY. The Beach House’s wedding package consists of a ceremony with decorations, a magistrate and fees, transportation to and from the authorities, bridal bouquet, boutonniere, Best Man and Maid of Honor, champagne, wedding cake, an in-room champagne breakfast, a candlelight dinner with wine, and a departure gift.

The resort’s honeymoon package includes a flight on a chartered plane between Antigua and Barbuda, tropical flowers, a champagne breakfast and candlelight dinner for two, and a departure gift.

Spa and Swimming Pools at the Beach House:

CLOSED. While the Beach House does not have a spa, manicures, pedicures, and several types of massages including Swedish, shiatsu, and aromatherapy are available. Guests are offered a 30-minute revitalization massage upon arrival. The resort has one large freshwater pool, surrounded by a wooden deck with sun shelters, lounge chairs, and a hammock, as well as a saltwater pool.

Nearby the Beach House:

REVIEW NO LONGER DESCRIBES THE PROPERTY. Barbuda, an unspoiled island with unpaved roads and lovely deserted beaches, is reachable by a fifteen-minute plane ride or a one-hour ferry ride from Antigua. Its 1,500 residents are concentrated in a small town near the airport. The Beach House is a 20 to 30 minute drive from town, the airport, a bird sanctuary, and the island's caves, once home to the Arawak Indians and today an intriguing place to explore. There are few restaurants on the island, and most guests spend their entire vacation at the resort. The resort has its own helicopter pad, making it easy to reach.

CLOSED What Could Be Improved at the Beach House:

REVIEW NO LONGER DESCRIBES THE PROPERTY. Because the Beach House is so isolated and there are so few restaurants on Barbuda — and none nearby — including lunch as well as breakfast and dinner would seem sensible. Most guests simply enjoy a large breakfast and skip lunch, but the resort could provide something light like fruit midday, if not an actual meal.

Is the Beach House Right for You? CLOSED:

REVIEW NO LONGER DESCRIBES THE PROPERTY. Anyone looking for a honeymoon in complete isolation will luxuriate in the Beach House’s serenity and sophistication. In fact, it’s hard to imagine any place on the planet that’s more tranquil. However, couples who prefer to spend their days gadding about an island sightseeing – or enjoying any activities aside from swimming, lounging at the pool, or taking long walks on the 17-mile beach — may be frustrated by the lack of stimulation or entertainment options.
