How to Decompose Milk
- 1). Take the milk out of the fridge. The fridge keeps the milk cool at a temperature that retards the growth of bacteria, which are necessary for decomposition.
- 2). Place the milk in a room with a temperature above 45 degrees F. The rate of growth of bacteria in milk doubles above this temperature. According to information from the North Carolina State University, the spoilage of milk doubles for every 18-degree F. increase in temperature.
- 3). Leave the milk for a few days to watch the decomposition process, and check the milk at intervals. It is obvious that the milk is decomposing when it begins to smell sour and curdles towards the bottom of the container. If you want the milk to decompose faster then place it outside where the temperature is usually higher. The temperature of milk can increase from 45 degrees F. to 60 degrees F. in 45 minutes when the container is outside.
