A dry and itchy vagina is a common symptom of yeast infection.
Yeast infection is quite similar to bacterial vaginosis but must not be confused with it.
Although both can cause vaginal infection, bacterial vaginosis is commonly manifested by an abnormal discharge in the vagina.

Multiple washing will rinse off the natural secretion of the vagina.
This secretion is the body's natural method of cleaning and keeping the vagina from getting dry.
Dryness and absence of moist is a very probable cause of itchiness.
Dry vaginas are also very prone to rashes.
If you practice shaving off your pubic hair, the cream or shave you are using might have undesirable effects to your genitalia.
Rinsing after shave may also cause more self-protective secretions to be washed away.
Anything that you use to clean the vagina, whether it is commercial solutions or water, will natural alter the body's self-protective process and thus causing dryness and itchiness.
Simple itching without dryness may simply be caused by wearing too many layers of clothes for prolonged time.
Wearing panties for 24 hours may make you feel comfortable but it may also cause itchiness.
