How to Make Monogrammed Favors

    • 1). Mix a store-bought sugar cookie dough in a medium-size mixing bowl. Place the dough on plastic wrap, seal it up and put the dough in the refrigerator for about 60 to 75 minutes.

    • 2). Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface, until the dough is about a quarter inch thick. Use themed cookie cutters to cut shapes from the dough.

    • 3). Use a spatula to move the cookies to a cookie sheet, slide a wooden skewer or heat-resistant craft stick into each cookie and bake according to the dough's instructions. Cool the shaped cookies to room temperature.

    • 4). Put a round icing tip in a pastry bag. Fill the bag about two-thirds full with royal icing. Write the monogram onto each cookie by hand or use stencils to help create a professional-looking monogram.

    • 5). Outline the outer edges of each cookie with the extra royal icing. Let the icing dry for 30 minutes.

    • 6). Cover each cookie with a square of cellophane and tie a ribbon beneath the cookie. Gather two or three cookies together and tie a ribbon around the bunch to complete the favor.
