Why Are Caribbean Honeymoon Hotels So Popular?

105 6
In the world of weddings, Caribbean honeymoon hotels are among the most highly regarded options for a newlywed couple to spend their special holiday in. Such is their renown that it has almost become a "must-do" for couples to head to that part of the world for their romantic break.

But what, exactly, makes these region such a desirable destination for newlywed couples? And why are Caribbean honeymoon hotels almost the default option for accommodation while in the islands? Below are just a few (very good) reasons.

Scenic Vistas

Most tropical weddings are booked on the back of stunning settings with breath-taking vistas, which are sure to steal the spotlight in the wedding photos. With post-wedding breaks, the situation is no different - naturally, most couples want to spend their special time in an idyllic location. In this regard, this delightful region delivers in spades, offering imposing mountains, leafy rainforests and golden sandy beaches in one immensely attractive package. Of particular note are St Lucia's twin mountains, Grand Piton and Petit Piton (Big Python and Little Python), which unfailingly constitute the dramatic backdrop for wedding pictures taken on the island.

Intimate Atmosphere

One of the main factors setting Caribbean honeymoon hotels apart from those found in most other resorts worldwide is their intimate nature, which is extremely conducive to intimacy and romance. Rather than the corporate, vertical collections of rooms one usually associates with the term €hotel', the local accommodation is often much more akin to a spa or holiday village, offering luxurious yet unassuming facilities in relatively quiet and discreet locations. Also unlike their corporate counterparts, establishments in these islands are often family-run, offering an atmosphere not found in a standard beachfront skyscraper.

Plenty To See And Do

While a few of the islands offer little beyond golden beaches and luxury resorts, most provide enough to see and do to give a romantic break a bit of much-needed variety. St Lucia, for instance (the most popular of all the islands for romance) boasts plenty of quaint spots in which to sample the local food and drink, as well as a number of historical sites that add a bit of a cultural slant.

These are only a few of the reasons why Caribbean honeymoon hotels continue to be fully booked year after year with starry-eyed couples beginning their life together. As for the rest of them, well, the couples themselves will know better than anyone!
