- 1). Open your torrent client and ensure the download has actually completed. It is a common mistake to assume a torrent is finished when it stops downloading when the actual reason is that the connection to other users was lost. Your torrent client should say "Finished" or "100%" next to the file or folder.
- 2). Check the downloaded video's file extension to learn which media player is most likely to work.
- 3). Open your video with Windows Media Player (see Resources). This is particularly good for files with the extensions WMV, MPEG or something similar. If you have a AVI or MOV extension, or the video simply will not play in Windows Media Player, try the VLC Media Player (see Resources).
