Video: Butter Pecan Brownies
Video Transcript
Hello, and welcome to Sugar & Spice. My name is Melissa Randall, from Baking with Melissa, and today I'm joined by two of my friends. I have Jessica and Kendall and we are making butter pecan brownies. Butter pecan brownies are a wonderful sweet treat to take all of your social events and parties. Now, what's so great about a butter pecan brownie? Well, it's not your traditional chocolate brownie; instead, it's golden inside and it's covered in amazing toasted pecans. And, it has that lovely density of a brownie without the chocolate flavor. You're going to love these and here we go. Start off with one package of a cake mix, a yellow cake mix is preferred, one stick of melted butter and one egg. Place those three ingredients into your mixer and mix until well combined. After you've combined the three ingredients, then you're going to press it down into a nine by thirteen pan that's been sprayed with cooking spray or lined with parchment paper or a nonstick foil. Press the mixture down on the bottom and set aside for later. Next in your mixer, you're going to cream your eight ounces of cream cheese until nice and smooth. Add in two eggs, one stick of melted butter and three and a half cups of powdered sugar. Mix until well combined. Then, you're going to place that layer on top of the cake layer and sprinkle with pecans. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees, place your brownies into the oven for approximately 40 to 50 minutes, just keep checking them at five minute intervals to see if they are ready. Once they've come out of the oven, let them cool completely and cut them into bars and enjoy.
