Go to any home business forum and you'll find the arguments about free versus paid education.
You're always going to have your supporters for each side.
So, the question is simple...
which is better? Can you go the free route effectively or is paid the only way you're going to get the information that you need in order to properly educate yourself for running a home business? My explanation below throws a totally unique monkey wrench into this argument.
Okay, let's toss in that monkey wrench.
I submit that there is no such thing as a free education.
How do I come up with that conclusion? Simple...
what's your time worth? If you say nothing, then in reality what you're saying is that your business is worth nothing because ultimately, what you're charging people for is your time.
You charge them for the products and services you create, and those things take time.
The more time they take, the more you charge for your service.
It's like that with anything.
If you think I'm kidding, have a plumber come to your house for about four hours of work.
Free information is free because you have to go out and search for it.
It isn't packaged nice and neat like an eBook or a membership site where everything is delivered to your doorstep.
With free info, it could be all over the place.
Depending on how much of it you have to find, it could take days or even weeks.
How many hours do you think that's going to come out to? How much do you think that's going to cost you in time? Sure, you're not taking actual dollar bills out of your pocket, but it's still costing you something.
But there's a bigger issue here.
With free info, you're on your own as far as accumulating it.
You don't know what's good and what's worthless.
With an established ecourse that has been highly regarded by other home business owners, you have a pretty good idea of what you're going to get and can be relatively sure that it's going to actually help you.
That may be the most important consideration of all.
What's the use of free info if it doesn't get the job done? The debates will go on, I'm sure.
But I think you know where I stand on this issue.
I'll spend $97 on an eBook before I waste valuable hours of my time looking for something that may or may not help me or even be available for free.
