Bed bug bites are tiny red bumps that are very itchy and I don't know about you, I find them gross as well.
Scratching the bites is not the only way to stop the itch, in fact, it is better if you can avoid doing so because it can aggravate the condition and it can help spread the infection more.
There are plenty of bed bugs remedies that will help stop the itch in no time and one of which is by making use of Vitamin C tablets.
All you have to do is crush 6 to 8 tablets, it should have the consistency of powder.
If you do not have a mortar and pestle at home, the back of a spoon should do it.
Add a few drops of water to turn the mixture into a paste and apply it directly to the bites.
Vitamin C works to alleviate inflammation and accelerate the healing process.
Tea tree oil is also one of the most effective bed bugs remedies.
What I love about this oil is its disinfecting properties.
It helps stop the itching in no time.
You can get the oil at your local health food store.
If you can't stand the smell of tea tree, you can just apply basil oil to the bites.
Forget about cheap essential oils and stick to products that are made from high-quality materials.
If you don't have time to run to the store to purchase tea tree or basil oil, you can make a paste out of baking soda and water to the affected area.
The baking soda effectively stops the itch and it can reduce the inflammation caused by bacteria.
You can also put calamine lotion to the bites to stop the itch.
Reapply as needed until the itch and inflammation is gone.
If topical creams or oils do not work and you can't stand the itch, you can take an over-the-counter antihistamine.
If none of the mentioned bed bugs remedies work, it's time for you to consult a doctor.
You may need a stronger medicated ointment.
