- 1). Go to the website of AVG AntiVirus, download and install the AVG anti-virus software package (see link in Resources).
- 2). Allow the full scan of your computer to proceed and finish. This is the last step in the installation process, but you must allow this scan to complete, even if it takes hours. This step will search your computer for Trojan viruses.
- 3). Read the summary screen that contains the list of viruses found and removed. You can see here if the program found the Sinowal Trojan virus and where it was located.
- 4). Remove all the Unhealed Infections by clicking the indicated button. This process is needed to remove additional viruses detected but not easily healed by AVG. This will remove all other viruses that were found.
- 5). Ensure that the AVG program is still running when you are done. This ensures that you are not easily infected by additional viruses in the future.
