A lot of people love chocolates.
These sweet, dark and creamy confections date back to a few thousand years in South American rain forests.
Chocolate comes from the beans of Cacao Trees and during the ancient times, Mayans worshiped these trees and believed they are food of the gods.
In fact, the word Cacao is Mayan for "God Food".
European explorers, upon discovering Cacao, brought them over to Europe and corruptibly named it Cocoa.
Soon, cocoa became popular but especially its best known outcome, the chocolate.
Today, chocolates are so widespread that almost every country in the world has its own version or kind of a chocolate.
Places such as Belgium, Denmark, and USA are famous for having popularize a certain brand of chocolate, may it be mass produced or rather something exclusive and special.
Quaint chocolate shops are also existent in every major city in the world.
Tourists and locales alike couldn't help but salivate and be mesmerized by the various chocolates displayed on shop windows.
Whenever they see these sweets, especially in Christmas hampers, they can't help but purchase some for themselves.
Chocolates are available in different colors, flavors, sizes and textures.
Some are individually wrapped, placed in boxes or intentionally piled on Christmas hampers.
This way, no matter what the occasion is, people can simply choose what they like and either send them away as gifts or enjoy them for themselves.
Receiving sweets on a certain occasion is very thrilling and proves to be a very sweet gesture.
It always never fails to melt a heart.
May the occasion be Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving, birthdays or Christmas, chocolates are simply perfect.
It was found that most women prefer to receive chocolates than flowers during Valentine's Day but for many, they can have it any time of the year and any hour of the day.
Chocolates are not so bad during Christmas too.
In fact, it is a must that all Christmas hampers be filled with chocolates as this ancient confection is a sure favorite of everybody.
